Traditional Braces

Orthodontics at Hills Dental Design

BracesTraditional braces can help patients achieve a straighter smile very quickly and effectively. At our Pennant Hills dental practice, our experienced orthodontist Dr Simon Briggs will assess your mouth to determine if traditional braces are the best treatment for you.

What Can I Achieve with Braces?

Depending on the treatment and the severity of your condition, orthodontics have the ability to resolve the following conditions:

  • Overbite – where the upper teeth protrude in front of the lower teeth
  • Underbite – where the lower teeth are in front of the upper teeth
  • Crossbite – where the teeth sit abnormally against each other
  • Crowding – where there is not enough room for teeth
  • Spacing – where there are gaps between teeth

There are a few other oral conditions that may be able to be resolved with orthodontics. During your consultation we will assess your smile and discuss with you the best treatment plan for your conditions.

Passive Legation Technique

The passive legation technique in orthodontics uses passive ligating braces, which involve a slide mechanism to retain the orthodontic wire, this allows the teeth to move more freely, quickly and comfortably. Passive legation techniques are known for their low friction mechanics which is why they are often more conformable than techniques used in traditional metal braces.

During your consultation in our Pennant Hills office, we will assess how orthodontic treatments can resolve your aesthetic and functionality issues. We will provide a treatment plan that is specifically tailored to suit your needs.

Your Orthodontic analysis will generally include an evaluation of your needs, with consideration to your oral and overall health ensure the the Traditional braces are suitable.
